Ha and Hee received a package
Ha and Hee received a package of pictures last week (or the week before) from their cousin Ai and Xin, and they were so excited. The pictures were very cute. The one that I liked the most was the one on the bottom middle: Ha, Hee, Ai, Xin and 妞妞( a dog). I bet that Ai was drawing about our Taiwan trip. In the picture, Ai wore a red dress, and all of them were listed according to their heights, Thank you, Ai and Xin!
Cooking in the backyard
When we were young, my grandma's house had a garden at 頂樓, and we called it 屋頂花園。 Every afternoon, after we were home from school, we finished our homework fast and went to the garden to play.
We sang the songs, danced, and cooked in the garden, and of course, we helped to water the plants and to weed.
My dad got this little kitchen long time ago, and Ha and Hee didn't play with it very often. I moved it to the backyard and taught Hee to cook (just like what we did when we were young, and weeds and fallen leaves were the best vegetables for kid's kitchen).
He had fun! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wv4If5fTYeQ

Sleeping in the living room
This video clip was taken when we had the floor remodeling. Ha and Hee were so happy about being able to sleep in the living room. They even had a little party.
Sorry, the first half of the clip was very dark because it was their bedtime and all the lights were out, but you will see things more clearly after Ha turned on the light.

Weddings
Yesterday, we attended the 3rd wedding of this year; actually, the 3rd wedding of these 2 months, and there's another wedding invitation for July.
I love to go to weddings to share the joy of the newly weds, to see the decorations, to review the vows, and to wear the beautiful dress that I don't normally have the special occasion to wear.
I really like the wedding that I attended yesterday. It had the the coupon's own style. The music that they chose was not the same as the music that people always chose for the wedding days; instead, they used many songs from 讚美之泉 and blended well with the wedding ceremony. After the pastor's pronouncement,
I also liked the song that the newly weds sang: When God made you:
When God Made You (Duet with Natalie Grant) - Eddie Carswell, Michael O'Brien
It's always been a mystery to me how two hearts can come together, And love can last forever. But now that I have found you, I believe that a miracle has come when God sends the perfect one. Now gone are all my questions about why And I've never been so sure of anything in my life
I wonder what God was thinking When He created you. I wonder if He knew everything I would need because He made all my dreams come true. When God made you, He must have been thinking about me
I promise that wherever you may go, Wherever life may lead you, With all my heart I'll be there too. From this moment on, I want you to know, I'll let nothing come between us, And I will love the ones you love. Now gone are all my questions about why, And I've never been so sure of anything in my life
He made the sun He made the moon To harmonize in perfect tune. One Can't move without the other, They just have to be together. And that is why I know it's true, You're for me and I'm for you ‘Cause my world just Can't be right Without you in my life
I wonder what God was thinking When He created you. I wonder if He knew everything I would need Because He made all my dreams come true
Yeah! He must have heard every prayer I've been praying (i've been praying).Yes He knew everything I would need. When God made you (i thank god he made you) When dreams come true. When God made you, He must have been thinking about me...

煮豆子:拿豆子去;紅蘿卜: 把蘿卜頭切去;吃櫻桃: 子拿去; 吃西瓜: looking hard for the black seeds in the seedless watermelon; 切蔥: 把根切下來種, even though we have so many green onions in our backyard already。。。。。。。

Home Depot Kid's DIY Program
In April, a friend from our fellowship told me that there's a kids program in Home Depot held once a month (first Sat. of every month), and all kids 5 years or older can DIY something for free.
We woke up early on 5/2, and kids were excited, so they woke up early, too. They made wheel barrels, and Home Depot also gave them a little pot, so they can put on their little wheel barrel. Ha and Hee were very careful of using the hammers and nails, so most of the time, we let them do the project by themselves and just gave assistance when necessary.
They enjoyed the program so much, and we will definitely do it again in June.

Yesterday, Hee and I went to Home Depot to buy something. I looked for it for a while and told hee that we'd better ask someone.
A minute later, he told me: 那邊有一個HomeDepot阿姨,我們可以去問她。 Follow me!
When we went near her,
Lesson:

Floor Remodel
Finally, I posted the photos of our floor remodeling week. Please go to the slide show on the left to see the photos.
Last winter, we started thinking of changing all the carpets in the bedrooms to laminate floor because the quality of the carpet was not good, so 每吸一次塵就掉一層毛. However, since it was cold in the winter, we decided to do it when spring came.
4/24 (Friday), Stephen did online searches for the laminate floor, and he found that there's a sales event in Simplefloors in Santa Clara, so we went there on Sat. It's not easy to shop with kids because they had many opinions; finally, we all agreed on the one with Cherry Convingtom color and with the pads underneath. It was $1.29 per square feet if we ordered the full pallet which could cover about 1200 sq.ft. It was "no sales tax day", so we saved $147 on the sales tax.
Floors were delivered on the following Wed (4/29), and our contractor came to give us the estimation about installation on Thursday (4/30). We have known the contractor for over the year, and he's a 阿沙力 person, so we liked to do business with him. He would remove the carpet and wall base, dispose them, and install the new floor and wall base for us. He charged $2 per square feet.
Our weekend was busy at removing all the furnitures in 3 bedrooms and kitchen; in addition, we needed to take out all the items in the closets, including all the clothes. We put all of them in the dining room, living room, our computer room and bathroom. Ha and Hee were so happy to be able to sleep in the living room. It was a fun experience for them.
Our contractor and his team arrived on Monday (5/4)around 8am, and everything was done by Wed. (5/6)afternoon. Afterwards, we needed to clean up the rooms, put things back...........for several days. Our lives are back to normal now.

I read my sister's blog, and she said: "團契的爸爸們讓媽媽們過了一個特別的母親節。這天,帶孩子和烹飪全由爸爸們一手包辦。爸爸們還準備餘興節目獻給媽媽們。媽媽們得到皇后般的禮遇。謝謝爸爸們的體貼。"

Who Cares
A few weeks ago, I noticed that when I asked Hee not to do....., he would stop doing that and said "Who cares". I told him that they were not very nice words, and he never said that ever since.
Last week, when I asked him not to do something, I heard him mumble to himself "誰管”。 I wasn't very sure about what I heard, and I didn't believe that he had the ability to translate the word "care", so I asked him what he said. He said "nothing", so I was sure that he said that. Then, I asked him how to translate "who cares", he told me "誰管", and he admitted that he was saying "誰管" few minutes ago. I told him that bad English words are still bad even when they were translated into other languages, so I asked him not to speak "誰管" in the future, and I never heard of that ever since.
Yesterday, he told me that at school, he heard a kids saying "who cares", and he went to tell the teacher. Oops, in our childhood, we didn't like this kind of 打小報告的狗腿同學; however, I hoped that he can feel free to go to the teacher when there's a need (for example, being bullied), and I didn't think that he's old enough to draw a line of when he needs to go to the teacher, so I didn't say anything to him about 打小報告.

Miss California: God was testing me
I am hugely loving her! She is the Miss USA in my heart! Thank God for giving her the courage to speak out the truth, and May God reward her thousand times more than getting the title of Miss USA.

Miss California: God was testing me
Contestant loses pageant crown after answering 'gay' marriage question

Carrie Prejean
At Sunday night's Miss USA pageant, contestant Carrie Prejean was asked the one question she dreaded most, "Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage; do you think every state should follow suit?"
Prejean, already crowned Miss California, was considered a front-runner in the Miss USA contest, but she knew her answer to that one question might not sit well with the panel, especially the inquiring judge, openly homosexual celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton, who calls himself "the queen of all media."
"Out of all the topics I studied up on, I dreaded that one; I prayed I would not be asked about gay marriage," Prejean told the Fox News Channel's Courtney Friel in an exclusive interview. "If I had any other question, I know I would have won."
Her answer, which suddenly has made her the center of both praise and scorn, included the words, "In my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised and that's how I think it should be – between a man and a woman."
In her interview with Friel, Prejean explained that, ultimately, the greatest judge of her character was not the one who asked her the question, but the one who doesn't need a TV camera to watch her answer.
"This happened for a reason. By having to answer that question in front of a national audience, God was testing my character and faith," Prejean said. "I'm glad I stayed true to myself."
On NBC's "Today" this morning, Prejean, a student at San Diego Christian College, elaborated:
"I knew at that moment after I answered the question, I knew, I was not going to win because of my answer, because I had spoken from my heart, from my beliefs and for my God," she said. "I wouldn't have answered it differently. The way I answered may have been offensive. With that question specifically, it's not about being politically correct. For me it was being biblically correct."
In the Fox News interview, Prejean added, "I have no regrets about answering honestly. [Perez Hilton] asked me for my opinion and I gave it to him. I have nothing against gay people, and I didn't mean to offend anyone in my answer."
Hilton, however, appeared highly offended in a YouTube video he made shortly after the contest's conclusion, calling her a "dumb b-----" and claiming she had given "the worst answer in pageant history."
In a follow-up interview on MSNBC, Hilton was asked if he had apologized for the comment, but instead added to it.
"I don't apologize," Hilton said on air. "Over the course of the past 24 hours, the more I've thought about it, the more – you know what? – No, I'm going to stand by what I said just like she's standing by what she said. And I called her the 'b' word, and hey, I was thinking the 'c' word."
Hilton also appeared on NBC's "Today," explaining that he demands a Miss USA winner be "politically savvy," and that even though Prejean is a Christian, he doesn't want her "talking about Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, because that's offensive."
An audio clip of Hilton's comments can be heard below:
Hilton's comments have drawn sharp reaction, even from those who might also disagree with Prejean's answer.
"I am an openly gay man and a supporter of same sex marriage and I wish Perez Hilton would shut up," writes syndicated talk show host Charles Karel Bouley in a column on Huffington Post. "This is a person who is famous for smearing snarky and crude things over celebrity photos and following Brittney's every move. He lives for controversy and is only famous for it."
Of the controversy on pageant night, Bouley writes, "It's a question with no right answer for a pageant contestant and one that also insults every person out there that is gay or lesbian – not her answer, the question."
Prejean, who ultimately finished as top runner-up in the contest, losing the crown to Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton, admits she was upset by Hilton's rant, but also claims she has received an outpouring of support.
"I've gotten over 500 facebook friend requests, hundreds of messages from people I don't know, saying how proud of me they are that I stood my ground," she said. "That made me the real winner of the night."
Winner Kristen Dalton's title, London's Daily Mail reports, comes with a year's use of a New York apartment, a public relations team, a two-year scholarship at the New York Film Academy and an undisclosed salary. Dalton will also compete in the Miss Universe pageant in August.
If, for any reason, Dalton should be unable to perform her duties as Miss USA, Prejean would be the first in line to fulfill the role ambassador-like responsibilities of the pageant's winner.
