I've Got Peace like a River?

昨天哈哈跟我到Target買了一個蘋果派，剛剛他到廚房切了一大塊去吃。

我：這麼大？
哈：I only take one piece?（我只切一塊）
我：我剛剛的piece很小 (Chinglish....) （手比出我那一塊的大小）
哈：It's not even a piece. (那不算一塊）
我：（開始唱）I've got peace like a river, I've got peace like a river, I've got peace like a river in my soul.... (我有平安如江河在我心）
哈：You must have trouble with your peace. (妳的平安可能有點問題）
我：Why?
哈：River has never been peaceful. People died in the river.(河流從來不是平靜的, 有時候人可能會在河裡死掉）


他說的有點道理，可是詩歌為什麼會這麼唱？一定有聖經根據吧。被我查到了，在以賽亞書48:18

Isaiah 48:18 English Standard Version (ESV)

18 Oh that you had paid attention to my commandments!
    Then your peace would have been like a river,
    and your righteousness like the waves of the sea;

Isaiah 48:18 New International Version (NIV)

18 If only you had paid attention to my commands,
    your peace would have been like a river,
    your well-being like the waves of the sea.

拿給他看，聖經說的！

哈： There must be something wrong in translation. (聖經的翻譯一定有些問題）
我：可是我也不懂聖經的原文，怎麼知道有沒有問題？

我在Bible Gateway上隨便看看有沒有別的翻譯，看到這個猶太人的。

18 If only you would heed my mitzvot!

Then your peace would flow on like a river,

and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

看起來這是說平安的“時間長度”像河流不停止， 而不是狀況像河流，有時候會氾濫害死人。
不過只有這個版本是這樣翻，其他的都不是，所以也不一定正確。

在解經文章則是看到：

Then had thy peace been as a river - The word ‹peace‘ here (שׁלום shâlôm ) means properly wholeness, soundness, and then health, welfare, prosperity, good of every kind. It then denotes peace, as opposed to war, and also concord and friendship. Here it evidently denotes prosperity in general, as opposed to the calamities which actually came upon them.

As a river - That is, abundant - like a full, flowing river that fills the banks, and that conveys fertility and blessedness through a land. ‹The pagan, in order to represent the Universal power and beneficence of Jupiter, used the symbol of a river flowing from his throne; and to this the Sycophant in Plautus alludes (Trium. Act iv. Sc. 2, v. 98), in his saying that he had been at the head of that river:

這句話沒什麼特別的，也沒有太大爭議，只是我從來沒有認真的想過其中的意思，既然聖經說平安像河流，那就像河流。有時候應該換個純真一點的角度看，或許可以看到一些新的東西。
