特別的一天

早上7點起床，聽見直升機在外面不停打轉，不知道是什麼事。照常出門去YMCA，可是一到巷口就看見一大堆警車，有些路也封了。我一面開車，一面聽我的中文電台“矽谷早安”節目， 所以也沒聽到什麼新聞。直到到了YMCA， 要運動時把電視打開，只見到breaking news照的不就是我家門前紅綠燈嗎？下面大字寫著Shooting, 2 died (後來改成3 died) 7 wounded,我才知道原來這麼嚴重，趕快打電話回家叫Stephen 開電視看新聞。叫了哈嘻起來，趕快吃吃就出門，因為路有點封，怕堵車會遲到。

上班時，要接他們下課的driver打電話問他們學校今天開不開，我才發現有些學校沒開，因為那個嫌犯還沒抓到，而且可能還帶著武器。嫌犯是山上水泥廠的員工，在公司開槍，我們家在山腳下的大路，所以警察在這裡封路。嫌犯已經到HP公司附近想搶車，又傷了一個人，所以應該不在我們附近了。

早上，他們學校老師陸續寄了一些emails, 所以我大概知道一點學校的情況：
“If you did not send your children to school today please do not come by to

pick up any homework.

Due to the continued Code Blue status we are not allowed to leave the
classroom & I will not be leaving any homework at the office.”

“Since early this morning, we have been in constant contact with law enforcement regarding a suspect loose in our community. At the recommendation of law enforcement, we have kept our schools open in order to receive and account for our students, but under a lockdown situation for their safety. The school sites did a wonderful job in this endeavor.


All of our decisions were made with the abundance of caution in mind. I want to assure you that your students are safe, under supervision, and receiving classroom instruction.

The District maintains the capability to mass communicate with our community and we will continue to use this system to keep you informed.”

“Just wanted to send a quick update that we are all safe and fine in the classroom. We have a lockdown - so we have been indoors the whole day.”

“Due to the lock down situation, ALL PARENTS NEED TO PICK UP THEIR STUDENTS AT THE CLASSROOM.”

考慮之後，Stephen去接哈嘻直接回家，不去afterschool 了。

回家時，看到各個媒體的採訪車還在我家附近，還有接收器之類的東西纏在電線桿上，我想應不應該下車打個招呼，接受採訪，上個電視出個名，不過臉皮不夠厚，就算了。

嫌犯到現在還沒抓到，我們家早早關窗關門，定了alarm, 希望警察趕快抓到他，讓我們日子恢復正常。
